President’s Notes / Teacher ACTION needed

Hello JEA,

Things are getting busier and busier…I’ll be sending out these President’s Notes every few days, or daily, as issues and news warrants. Please take the time to read them…print them and share with friends who may not check email as frequently, and generally, just help disseminate this information.  Open the following link for your Feb. 1st edition, including information on the Early Release Survey, a change for the next Building Reps meeting, next week’s School Board Meeting, and what to do about “Rumors.”

Support YOUR Bargaining Team

Our bargaining team met all day this past Saturday (Jan. 7th) to prepare for negotiations – Thanks to Barb Kreher and Riverbend staff for providing lunch, snacks and coffee!

The team is meeting again at 5:00pm, this Wednesday (Jan. 11th), at the NEA office (downtown) before they meet with the district. They have really appreciated the food and snacks. Is anyone willing to provide dinner for them this coming Wednesday? Please email Allie Smith at: allison_smith@jsd.k12.ak.us.

Future meeting times are also on the calendar — Can you help with snacks or meals? Check these dates/times and contact Allie Smith to volunteer:

  • Thursday, Jan. 19th, 1pm (meet with the district)
  • Friday, Jan. 20th, 8am (meet with the district)
  • Monday, Feb. 7th (time TBA)
  • Tuesday, Feb. 8th (time TBA)
